MONROE TWP. -- The Dr. Jan Astin Mobile Digital Mammography Van will offer free screenings for women on Dec. 3 at St. Matthew's in Williamstown.
In less than 30 minutes, woman can have a screening mammogram at a location close to their home or workplace, regardless of their ability to pay. Women over the age of 40 are encouraged to come out to get screened for cancer. A mammography remains one of the most effective tools for identifying breast cancer at its earliest stages.
The mobile mammography van furnishes the same high-quality, screening mammograms that patients receive from imaging centers. In addition to the mammography equipment there is a small waiting area, two changing rooms, warm gowns for patients, and a simple check-in process.
This service makes it convenient for residents to have a screening mammogram, and reaches out to residents who would otherwise not have access to mammography services including residents without insurance coverage.
On Thursday, Dec. 3, the mammography van will be located at 245 Glassboro Road in Williamstown from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help provide women the accessibility of a life-saving screening regardless of their ability to pay. Schedule your appointment by calling 856-629-4614 or 609-677-9729.
