A Cinnaminson man was heading down I-295 Monday morning when another driver going the wrong way crashed into him at 65 miles per hour.
WEST DEPTFORD TWP. -- A man whose pickup truck was struck by a car heading the wrong way on I-295 Monday morning will be giving thanks for his life at dinner this Thursday, ABC reports.
Mark Rohrback, Jr., of Cinnaminson, was driving south on I-295 near mile marker 21.4 at about 4:30 a.m. Monday when a Toyota Prius heading the wrong way crashed into his pickup truck. When he gave an interview to ABC, he was shocked that he made it out alive.
"How could somebody walk away from that?" said Rohrback after seeing the burnt wreckage of his Ford F-150.
The driver of the Prius, 26-year-old Eileen Dougherty of Boothwyn, Pennsylvania, had to be cut from her car. She was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries, and faces drunken driving charges.
Rohrback said he saw headlights heading toward him on the road and swerved to avoid them.
"She swerved towards me and we both hit about 65 miles an hour, head on," he said. Although he was taken to Inspira Hospital in Woodbury, the father of two suffered no serious injuries.
"Somebody was definitely watching over me," said Rohrback. He also wished Dougherty a full recovery.
"I think that's going to be the talk of everybody's Thanksgiving table and I hope everything turns out well for the other driver."
