The bridge spanning Oldmans Creek, which connects Logan Township and Oldmans Township, will be closed for three months for construction.
LOGAN TWP. -- The bridge over Oldmans Creek that connects Salem and Gloucester Counties on Route 130 will be undergoing construction for the next few months that will close the road in both directions.
Here's what you need to know if you're a regular traveler of the major artery:
What is happening?
The Department of Transportation is closing the bridge over Oldmans Creek in order to dismantle its counterweights, according to Logan Township Administrator Lyman Barnes.
"They're partially demolishing it to make it a fixed span," he said.
There will also be four new utility poles installed and guide wires will be brought across Route 130 during the construction.
What will be closed?
Access to the bridge over Oldmans Creek will be cut off during construction entirely.
Barricades will be installed after Railroad Avenue on the Salem County side of the bridge and after Center Square Road on the Gloucester County side.

How long will it take?
Construction is scheduled to begin on Nov. 20, 2015 and continue for approximately three months until late February 2016. Access to the bridge will be closed during the entire time.
What are my travel options?
If you are headed south from Logan Township, a detour will be set up utilizing Center Square Road to I-295, which can be used as an alternate to Route 130.
If you are traveling north from Salem County, the detour will take you down Porcupine Road to I-295.
What if I work in the area?
Access to all businesses and residences in the area will remain unobstructed, Barnes said.
"It is only going to affect people who utilize Route 130 to get over the Oldmans Creek Bridge," he said. For those residents there is a detour set up."
What if there is an emergency?
All emergency personnel in the area have been made aware of the detours and will be instructed to find alternate routes to residents in need in both Oldmans Township and Logan Township.
