Mayor Tom Bianco invited William Driver, a student from Clayton High school's Multi-Disabled Class to assist him in leading a Clayton Council Meeting. This was in honor of the 25th Anniversary of the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
Last fall, Mayor Bianco, along with other council members, came to the Clayton Middle School and High School for the CLIPS TRIPS Clayton Cleanup.
Mayor Bianco, Council member Charles Simon, Borough Administrator Sue Miller, and Director of Public Works Paul Pheasant spoke to students about their jobs and duties in the borough.
The CLIPS TRIPS program is a HIPP Grant project that helps motivate special needs students through community service projects. This program links citizenship and job exploration while boosting students' self esteem and confidence.
