A candidate running for committee allegedly told reporter he hopes she gets raped.
WEST DEPTFORD TWP.-- A man seeking a seat on the West Deptford township committee is being accused of harassing a reporter for more than a year, saying he wished she would be raped by a Syrian refugee, POLITICO reports.
Mike Krawitz -- a Republican who has frequently run for office in the Democratically-controlled Gloucester County town of about 22,000 -- allegedly posted on Facebook that he hopes somebody rapes Daily Beast reporter Olivia Nuzzi, the report says.
Nuzzi claims that Krawitz has frequently harassed her on social media. The latest form of alleged harassment, she said, was on Monday when he posted in response to her sharing a colleague's story about Donald Trump's ex-wife Marla Maples.
Krawitz says in the POLITICO report that his Facebook account was hacked.
Nuzzi shared a screenshot of the statements on Twitter.
.Thanks to @Olivianuzzi for talking to us & exposing this vile behavior, 'hacked' or not. https://t.co/dWGGutYYO8 pic.twitter.com/HwIr7ax6JV

POLITICO reports that a statement was posted on West Deptford GOP Facebook page, which has since been taken down:
"The executive board of the WDGOP does not condone any repulsive, threatening, or demeaning rhetoric in any social media form or otherwise. We are in the process of contacting Twitter for confirmation that someone hacked into his account and posted his Facebook thumbnail on the hacked twitter entry."
