WOODBURY -- A Paulsboro man has been indicted on charges of sexual assault stemming from a December 2015 incident in which he allegedly broke into a woman's home and assaulted her while she was sleeping.
Abdul M. Stanback, 37, is accused of entering a Mang Avenue, Greenwich Township apartment, grabbing the 51-year-old woman by the ankles and sexually assaulting her. The victim suffered injuries to her ribs and neck during the assault, according to complaints signed against Stanback, which say he grabbed and twisted her neck during the assault.
He was indicted by a grand jury on charges of first degree sexual assault during a robbery, kidnapping or homicide, second degree sexual assault, second degree burglary and fourth degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Stanback, a registered sex offender, was identified by the victim and arrested on Thomson Avenue in Paulsboro shortly after the assault in possession of prescription medication that was not prescribed to him.
He is currently listed as homeless, but his last known address was on Spruce Street, approximately one mile from the victim's home.
