Kennedy Health recognizes nursing staff with 'Power of One' award

Nurses recognized for their contributions to patient care

VOORHEES - Nine Kennedy Health Nursing Department associates - including registered nurses, advance practice nurses, and patient care technicians - were awarded 2016 Kennedy "Power of One" Nursing Awards for their contributions to patient care and to Kennedy's mission to caring for the people of Southern New Jersey.

Awards were presented in three categories: for Clinical Associates (one from each Kennedy hospital as well as an outpatient location), Clinical Nurses (one from each hospital, as well as an outpatient location) and a system-wide selected Nurse Leader. The 2016 winners are:

Clinical Associates

  • Mount Laurel resident Kay Kum Pai, Patient Care Technician; Kennedy University Hospital - Cherry Hill, Unit T-2
  • Turnersville resident Jane Griess, Behavioral Health Case Management Specialist, Kennedy University Hospital - Stratford, Emergency Department
  • Gloucester City resident Holly McDaniel, Patient Care Technician; Kennedy University Hospital - Washington Township, Unit MS-1
  • Sewell resident Helaine DiFranceisco, Certified Surgical Technologist, Kennedy Surgery Center (Sewell).

Clinical Nurses

  • Newfield resident Megan Mulhall, R.N., Kennedy University Hospital - Cherry Hill, Unit T-2
  • West Berlin resident Linda Fleming, R.N., Kennedy University Hospital - Stratford, Unit 4-East
  • Sicklerville resident Janine Meehan, R.N.,  Kennedy University Hospital - Washington Township, Unit MS-2
  • Williamstown resident Amy Murtha, R.N., Home Health Care (Ambulatory).

Nurse Leader

  • Marlton resident Nora Bollinger, R.N., Clinical Educator, Kennedy University Hospital - Cherry Hill.

The winners - who were nominated by Kennedy associates and selected by Nursing Leadership - each received an engraved trophy, lobby plaque and a plaque presented to their department/unit for display. The announcement of the "Power of One" winners coincided with Kennedy's celebrations for National Nurses Week, May 6-12. 

This year marked the sixth year that the "Power of One" awards have been presented at Kennedy. Kennedy is a health services delivery system serving the communities of southern New Jersey.
