Lag B'Omer, which takes place on the 18th of Iyar in the Jewish calendar, is a holiday celebrating the 33rd day of the Counting of the Omer. The holiday marks the passing of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and has been linked to the Bar Kokhba revolt again the Roman Empire in the first century CE.
