WEST DEPTFORD TWP. -- A man was who was arrested after barricading himself in his home Thursday afternoon may be responsible for a string of recent South Jersey bank robberies, West Deptford police said.
West Deptford and Harrison township police departments, along with several other agencies, have conducted a "long-term investigation" into several bank robberies, West Deptford police reported in a Facebook statement Thursday night.
A suspect in those cases, and another bank robbery Thursday in Burlington County, was taken into custody at his Ashton Court home on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Authorities previously tied four summer bank robberies -- one in West Deptford and three in Harrison -- to the same gun-wielding man.

Barbara Price, of Wenonah, was in her car behind the plaza on Route 45 and Ogden Road. She was looking through the fence adjacent to Ashton Court trying to see the police activity down the street.
The house the man had barricaded himself in is directly next to her daughter's home. Price said her daughter was sheltered in an upstairs room petrified.
In June, a man robbed a West Deptford bank and a Fulton Bank in Harrison Township in the same week. In late July, he robbed a Susquehanna Bank branch in Harrison Township and then robbed it again in August.
Officials say full details on Thursday's arrest will be announced Friday.
