DEPTFORD TWP. -- The Miracle League of Gloucester County kicked off its eighth season on Saturday.
The league offers a chance for children with mental or physical challenges to play organized baseball.
The league is open to any student with a disability -- ages 4-21 -- who lives in Gloucester County or attends Gloucester County Special Services School District.
The league's 100 players and 10 teams are broken down into two age divisions -- 4-12 and 13 and older.
The field, located behind Bankbridge Elementary School, is made of specially designed rubber turf to accommodate players special needs.
