He failed to notify police that he had moved, authorities said.
WOODBURY -- Authorities are looking for a local man who failed to appear in court for a pre-arraignment interview on a charge of a sex offender failing to notify police of an address change, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.
Brian D. Eckert, 39, whose last known address was on Princeton Avenue in National Park, is 5 feet 11 inches tall, 225 pounds, with blue eyes and blond hair. He has a tattoo on his right arm.
On June 23, 2015, a Westville police officer tried to contact Eckert, who is an out-of-state registered sex offender, and found that he was no longer living at the Princeton Avenue address he had previously provided to police, officials said.
He had failed to notify local law enforcement within 10 days of moving, as is required by law. At that point, an arrest warrant was issued, according to the prosecutor's office.
Eckert was indicted on March 2 on a charge of third-degree sex offender failing to notify police of an address change.
