Gifted and talented students created an invention or innovation that solved a problem
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Students from Diane Jablonowski's ELEMEnTS (Elementary Learners Engaged in Mathematics, Engineering, new Technologies and Science) classes got to show off their inventing skills at the Feb. 23 Board of Education meeting. During the public session they presented the ideas they executed as part of the SITE (Student Inventions through Education) program.
The program is designed for gifted and talented students through the Educational Information and Resource Center (EIRC), allowing them to create an invention or innovation that solves a problem in an area of special interest to the student.
Wedgwood students created everything from a microphone with an LED screen, to a hair product applicator, to a new, exciting version of a selfie stick, and more. Students who presented their projects to the Board included Annabelle Corigliano, Michael Liguori, Monte Richards, Sawyer Quallen, Alex Schultes and Jenna Strosser.
