Camden County's Winterfest Ice Rink presents world-class skaters in 'Rock the Ice' through February.
Even though the holidays are over, winter is here to stay for a while.
So the candy canes and gingerbread men that decorated Camden County's Winterfest Ice Rink at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken over the holidays have gone back into storage.
Winterfest's world-class figure skaters are turning up the beat and the heat with "Rock the Ice" -- a new show featuring bright lights and rock music.
"If you are ready to rock into the New Year, we have the show for you. Come see the performers as they bring modern music to life on the ice. The show features upbeat dance moves, specialty skating acts, triple jumps, backflips and great music," said Freeholder Jeff Nash, liaison to the Camden County Parks Department. "Don't miss Mayumi Namikoshi's hula hoop tricks and your chance to skate with the stars after the show."
From now through Feb. 14, the 60-by-120 foot ice rink in Jack Curtis Stadium will serve as a rock concert on ice during the four shows per week -- Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Winterfest Ice Skating Rink is open Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday 5 to 10 pm., Saturday noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.
Children 4 years old and younger are free, kids 5 to 12 are $3, and adult admission is $5. Skate rental is $3 and parking is free.
