Charges are pending against a Pennsylvania man who allegedly fled a traffic stop, police said.
LOGAN TWP. -- Charges are pending against a Pennsylvania man who allegedly fled a traffic stop, police said.
An officer tried to stop a vehicle for speeding on High Hill Road on Jan. 6.
The driver refused to stop and tried to elude police, authorities said. He eventually stopped the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police attempted to locate him with the help of a K-9, but no one was found.
Further investigation led police to identify a Collingdale, Pennsylvania, man as the driver. Charges had not been filed as of a Friday report.
In other police news:
- While following up on a previous theft report, police arrested a 23-year-old Logan Township man for possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous outstanding warrants totaling $695. Also arrested was a 21-year-old Sewell woman for possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle as well as on outstanding warrants totaling $525. Both were processed and released pending future court dates.
- Police charged a 27-year-old Knoxville, Tennessee, woman with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle after investigating a report of suspicious activity at Wawa on Center Square Road on Dec. 24. She was processed and released pending court. Also arrested was a Friendsville, Tennessee, man who was charged with possession of prescription legend drugs. He was jailed on $7,500 bail.
- A 46-year-old Woolwich Township woman was charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash on Village Center Drive on Dec. 26. She was processed and released pending a court date.
- Police investigated a report of a burglary and theft from a hotel room at Hampton Inn on Dec. 26. The items, valued at about $100, were found in another room the following day and returned to the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
- Police investigated the theft of a wallet from a home on Heron Drive and fraudulent use of a credit card. Charges are pending review of surveillance camera video.
- Police investigated the report of a bomb threat at the Amazon fulfillment center on Center Square Road on Dec. 31. Several explosive detection K-9 units were called to the scene, but nothing was found and employees were allowed to return to work.
- Police investigating a domestic violence incident charged a 33-year-old East Greenwich Township man with assault. He was later apprehended, processed and released pending a court date.
- Police investigated a shoplifting report from Acme on Center Square Road on Jan. 2. An estimated $80 worth of merchandise was stolen.
- A 27-year-old Pittsgrove Township woman and a 28-year-old Mantua Township woman were arrested on shoplifting charges after they allegedly took $559.94 worth of merchandise from Rite-Aid on Village Center Drive on Jan. 4. Both were processed and released pending court.
- Police are trying to identify a woman who allegedly shoplifted $94.94 worth of energy drinks and frozen food from Acme on Jan. 5. When she was confronted in the parking lot by store personnel, she abandoned the merchandise.
