WASHINGTON TWP. -- Washington Township School District support services union is calling on the community to lend a hand to those in need.
The annual Stuff the Bus campaign is back.
And fundraiser organizers are expecting to fill up a yellow school bus with everyday items to give to Mother's Cupboard food pantry after Thanksgiving.
"It's nice to know that you're helping to keep the shelves stocked for the people who need it," said Lynn Cianci, who has spent the past 20-plus years working in the school district's food services.
Members of the Washington Township Schools Support Service Personnel Association (WTSSSPA) are marking its 10th year collecting nonperishable items during the holiday to give to the local food pantry.

The union organization is looking for any non-perishable, unexpired canned goods, paper products, baby items, toiletries, gift cards and more.
Each item will help the less fortunate get through the winter months and the holidays.
"We ask for everything and anything," Cianci said. "Whatever you use in your daily life that might be considered a luxury to some people that are a little bit down on their luck right now."
Cianci, the unions Pride chair, said she thought of the idea 10 years ago and since then it has grown. She said every year, each box sitting on a school bus seat was filled with items. Last year, boxes had to be placed on the floor for overflow items donated.
From a can of soup to a car trunk filled with mixed items, Cianci said every bit counts.
"Without them we really couldn't do it," she said about the community support. "It wouldn't have the same effect."
Those interested in donating can drop off items on Dec. 2 from 1:30 to 7 p.m. at the corner of Ganttown and Hurffville-Crosskeys roads.
Just look for the yellow school bus.
"Every little bit helps," Cianci said.
About 622 of the district support staffers are a part of the WTSSPA. Workers include bus drivers, food service workers, school aides, custodial staff, security guards and more.
