WOODBURY HEIGHTS -- A Gloucester City woman has reported that she found needles or pins in candy bars her children received while trick-or-treating in Woodbury Heights, borough police announced via Facebook.
Michelle Garwood posted pictures of the candy and the sharp objects to the social media site Sunday night and the public post quickly spread, garnering nearly 4,000 shares by Monday morning.
The Snickers Almond bar containing the pin was received while trick-or-treating around the 100 and 200 blocks of Central Avenue, as well as Second Street, Linden Avenue and Beech Avenue, Woodbury Heights Police said.
"As with all reports, it is unknown if the tampering was done at a home, at the factory or somewhere in between," the Police Department wrote in its Facebook post."If you find candy that appears to be tampered with, please report it to your local police department immediately."
