Ann Chevreuil wonders why everyone was so negative about the utility's June storm response.
To the Editor:
My household has been customers of Atlantic City Electric Co. for many years. We recently called their office and requested assistance with a problem we had on our property.
The workers arrived the very next day, equipped and ready to do the work. The workers were prompt, courteous and efficient. This has been our experience with this company during our association of many years.
MORE: South Jersey leaders fuming over utility's storm response
When we had the big "macroburst" storm in South Jersey in June, there was devastation everywhere. After that storm, we read some bad press concerning ACE and its repair response time. It was difficult to believe these accounts because we had never read or heard anything negative about this utility.
We feel Atlantic City Electric should be given credit where credit is due.

N.J. Democrats' investment plan will bring dividends
To the Editor:
I am tired of the same old talking points from Republicans on the economy. Their answer to everything is always to just cut taxes and cut spending, and hope something happens. When you cut funding to our roads, schools, colleges for and senior-citizen services, we all suffer.
Starving a plant doesn't help it grow. Starving our economy by slashing spending and investments won't make New Jersey grow either. It is a Republican myth.
I see that the New Jersey Senate Democrats, led by Senate President Stephen Sweeney, have come up with what they are calling an investment plan for some of these areas.
It is clear that the Democrats understand how to grow the middle class. Our state needs to make investments in things that matter to everyday people, not invest in tax cuts that benefit only the wealthy.
