Thank the fishing gods for the amazing amount of perch being around all year and they are still biting in all of the creeks and tributaries of Delaware Bay.

Ken at Husted's Landing said his family is actually getting tired of eating white perch.

But since the activity in the bay is on the slow side, at least anglers have something to fish for.  And it is also the favorite eating fish of many people.

Now there are still some fish in the bay but you just have to find them.  One guy told me he and his buddy were doing okay just outside the mouth of Maurice River on croaker and weakfish.  Then another fellow told me he has been going down near Brandywine and catching a few croaker and weakfish.

Ken reported (besides perch) he had two old customers Bob Gerlac of Elmer and George Marshal of Ridgeway have a catch of porgies and snapper blues down below Number Six Buoy.

Ken also told me he had an old customer of mine, Justin Pierre of Millville catch two stripers in Back Creek while using a fly rod and a bucktail.  How about that.  Of course he had to throw one back.

Al Hartem of Vineland had an odd catch of a few blowfish in Back Creek.

Duck season opens

Duck Season opened up last Saturday and Ken reported the following news.

Ken's son Ken the 4th and his buddy Casey Bray had a good day with 7 teal, 1 black and 2 mallards.

Larry Metsger of Millville had 2 mallards and 2 teal.

He also had hunters from Allentown and Delaware all come in with a variety.  They said ducks were flying all afternoon.

Shore report

Down at the shore they are still waiting for the big stripers to show up for their fall run.

A few are being caught up in the Mullica and Barnegat areas but not many keepers in our area from Atlantic City to Cape May.

Tautog are providing most of the action in our area while sea bass season opened last Thursday.
