Three Pennsville residents were arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft of scrap metal, according to police.
GREENWICH TWP. -- Three Pennsville Township residents were arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft of scrap metal, according to police.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Bacchus Avenue on Wednesday morning for a report that a large amount of scrap metal had just been stolen.
Witnesses provided descriptions of two men and a woman and the vehicle they were driving.

Officers contacted scrapyard operators in Gloucester and Camden counties and tracked down a tag number for the vehicle allegedly used in the thefts.
Police set up surveillance on Interstate 295 southbound and were able to stop the vehicle on its way back to Pennsville, authorities said.
Brian W. Ecret, 38, Michael S. Shuman, 37, and Linda M. Hess, 29, were charged with theft, defiant trespassing, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes.
Ecret and Shuman were released on summonses and Hess was placed in Salem County Correctional Facility on outstanding warrants.
None of the stolen property was recovered, police said.
