Large-scale community events scheduled for downtown
GLASSBORO -- A series of large-scale community events is expected to draw more than 20,000 visitors to downtown Glassboro's Rowan Boulevard this fall. With a focus on good food, spirits and wine, live music and local traditions, the events are targeted to families and include free parking in the Rowan Boulevard parking garage and throughout downtown.

GLASSBORO CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL: Taste dozens of craft beers from all over the country as Landmark Americana presents the fourth annual Glassboro Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 1 to 5 p.m. The event also features food, live entertainment and vendors tailored to the 2,000 craft beer enthusiasts expected to attend. Tickets are $40 in advance ($50 for VIP tickets and $5 for non-drinking tickets) and are available at glassborobeerfest.com.
ROWAN"S PUSH CART RACES: Get ready to burn some rubber on Rowan Boulevard on Oct. 4. The Boys and Girls Club will run the first races at 5:30 p.m. Teams of four will race at 7:30 p.m. The team with the fastest time will be crowned winner during the halftime show at the Homecoming football game on Oct. 8. Sponsored by the Office of Student Activities. Free snacks provided by Gourmet Dining. Anyone is invited to attend this event.
ROWAN UNIVERSITY BLOCK PARTY: Bring the whole family to enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, around the world music with a live band, a beer garden, craft vendors and a PROFlympic themed photo area. There will also be a kids' zone with plenty of activities. Admission is free. Located on Hollybush Green with an evening block party on Friday, Oct. 7 from 5 to 10 p.m. About 5,000 people will attend this annual event.
GLASSBORO UNITY DAY: Glassboro's annual community day will take place Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at East New Street Park (410 E. New Street, Glassboro). About 2,000 people are expected for games, food, community information and entertainment.
GLASSBORO FALL FESTIVAL TRUNK-OR-TREAT: Oct. 31, 5 to 8 p.m. This is Glassboro's First Annual Fall Festival and will be the first event to be held on the New Glassboro Town Square! Features of this soon to be seasonal favorite are:
- Trunk-Or-Treat with more than 50 trunks including police, fire, and ambulance vehicles packed with candy and treats.
- Local business participations
- Costume contest with prizes for ages 1-5, 6-12, 13-18, 19 and over.
- Pet costume contest with prizes
- "Best Trunk in Show" contest with prizes
- Town Square fire pit is open
- Slime making station
- Spooky STEM station
- Outdoor movie: "Nightmare Before Christmas" (bring your own seating)
- Coffin scavenger hunts
- Rowan actor vampires
- DJ Music
BORO IN LIGHTS: Glassboro and Rowan University present Boro in Lights, the annual holiday celebration and tree lighting, on Friday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. Ring in the holidays with a fire truck parade, ice carving demos, horse and carriage rides and live performances as holiday characters come to life in the crowd of about 3,000 people.
