The event at Wenonah Lake was dubbed "The End of the Dog Days of Summer."
WENONAH -- Dogs went swimming in Wenonah Lake for a good cause on Sunday.
West Deptford High School senior Trisha Baud hosted a fundraiser called "The End of the Dog Days of Summer," in which dog owners were allowed to treat their pets to off-leash play and a swim in the lake.
Funds raised will go to West Deptford Police Department's K-9 unit.
Baud is vice president of her class, a three-sport varsity athlete and captain of the field hockey and lacrosse teams.
Her love of animals and working dogs inspired her to tackle this community service project. She has volunteered at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center in Philadelphia.
