Clayton pair charged with making counterfeit money

Officers found needles, drugs and counterfeit money upon searching home.

CLAYTON -- A Clayton man and woman were charged with making counterfeit money after officers searched their residence and found uncut, fake bills. 

On Aug. 30, Clayton Police saw suspect Renee Geortler, 50, at a bus stop by Liberty Diner on Delsea Drive. According to police, there was an active warrant for her arrest and officers proceeded to search Geortler. Officers found a hypodermic needle along with several counterfeit ten and twenty U.S. dollar bills. She was charged with forgery, possession of a forgery device and possession of a hypodermic needle.

According to police, officers then searched Geortler's residence on Roosevelt Boulevard, finding additional drug paraphernalia and uncut sheets of counterfeit U.S. currency. Officers also arrested Major Lord, also known as Paul Lord, 46, who was in the home at the time of the search, and charged him with forgery, possession of a forgery device, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, failing to surrender the substance to police and possession of a hypodermic needle.

Geortler's bail was set at $20,000 and Lord's was set at $25,000. Neither was able to post and were taken to Salem County Jail.
