The sing-off will feature jazz, blues and show tunes
The well-known Senior Idol singing contest returns to Brightview Woodbury Lake, 752 Cooper St., Woodbury, a senior living community, for the seventh year. The contest is set for Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
Contestants - including residents and associates - from the surrounding community will participate in the annual event that is modeled after he popular television's "American Idol."
The sing-off at Woodbury Lake will feature a variety of entertainers singing jazz, blues, show tunes and more.
Participants must be 60 or better and willing to share their gift of music. The performers will be judged by a panel of individuals representing organizations dedicated to working with seniors.
"We always draw a terrific crowd -- standing room only," explains Vibrant Living Director Patti Perkins. "Everyone cheers and comes together to rally behind the performances."
"It is a special event," she adds. "A resident favorite."
