The Delsea Regional High School student suffered minor injuries.
FRANKLIN TWP. -- A student suffered a minor injury when she was struck by the mirror of a passing truck as she waited for her school bus Tuesday morning, township police said.
The incident happened shortly before 7 a.m. while the 14-year-old Delsea Regional High School student waited for her bus on Tuckahoe Road between Grant and Birch avenues.
Jason Demmy, of Newfield, was driving the Ford F350 utility truck, when the passenger-side mirror struck the student, causing minor shoulder injuries, police said.
Franklin Township EMS transported the student to Inspira Medical Center in Elmer for treatment.
Star Cross Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The stretch of road where the accident occurred does not have sidewalks but does have a wide bike lane. It's not clear where the student was standing.
Tuesday was the first day of school in Franklin Township.
