The Millville resident had a revolver in his front pocket, police said.
FRANKLIN TWP. -- A Millville man was arrested on gun charges following a traffic stop on Saturday night, according to township police.
An officer stopped a Nissan for a motor vehicle violation on Route 40 in Malaga.
"Police began an investigation into suspected narcotics activity," authorities said, in which the driver was initially detained.
A passenger, Jose Barreto Jr., 22, was asked to step out of the vehicle. A pat-down search revealed Barreto had a .32-caliber H&R Arms double-action revolver in his front pocket, police said.
They also found suspected marijuana in his possession.
Barreto was charged with possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of marijuana.
He was placed in Salem County Correctional Facility on $30,000 full cash bail.
The driver was issued two motor vehicle summonses and released.
