WOODBURY -- An appeals court ruled against a Paulsboro man who claimed a jury was prejudiced during his case and affirmed his driving while suspended conviction Friday, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

Aaron J. Hentz, 42, who has 33 previous convictions for multiple offenses, was sentenced to 18 months in state prison in the case, which stemmed from an October 2012 incident. He claimed, however, that the jury was prejudiced when it heard testimony that he gave a false name during his arrest. During the trial the arresting officer had testified that Hentz said his name was Mike Anderson at the time, the prosecutor's office said.

The appeals court, however, ruled that allowing that testimony did not prejudice the just and that there was "overwhelming evidence" of his guilt.
