Sneathen presented Ferrara with a Letter of Commendation from GHS and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), the corporation which conducts the program.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional promise. Being designated as a Commended Student means that Ferrara placed within the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Ferrara is a member of the Glassboro School District STEM Academy. At Glassboro High School, she serves as a student representative for the Glassboro Board of Education, executive vice president of the Student Government Association, vice president of the Class of 2016, president of the GHS Chapter of the International Thespian Society, treasurer of the National Honor Society, and a member of Tri-M Musical Honor Society, Select Choir, choir, and orchestra. She actively participates in the drama program. Ferrara was also selected for the highly-competitive All-South Jersey Chorus and All-State Chorus.
