A candle light vigil will be held in remembrance of those lost to addiction.
Gloucester County's Addictions Task Force is asking for individuals who have lost friends or loved ones to the disease of addiction to participate in a candlelight vigil in remembrance of those lost.
The vigil, being held Wednesday, Aug. 31 at James G. Atkinson Park's Millennium Plaza, will remember those who have lost their battles with addiction and "reduce the stigma of a drug related death," according to the county's Freeholders.
The recently formed county addiction task force is made up of individuals who have been affected by addictions or professionals working in the field. Anyone wishing to participate is asked to send the name and photograph of a friend or family member to be commemorated to Robert Bamford at rbamford@co.gloucester.nj.us.
The event will also provide resources for those still suffering from addiction and their loved ones. It will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the park, which is located at 138 Bethel Mill Road, Washington Township.
