A Turnersville man is facing multiple charges after jumping off a Woodbury business during a burglary attempt.
WOODBURY -- An officer was injured when a burglary suspect jumped off the roof of a city business Thursday night.
Officers were called to Fat Louie's on Red Bank Avenue for reports of a man on the roof, according to police. When they arrived they found someone had entered the building and shortly afterwards exited the business onto the roof again. When asked to come down using a ladder, he reportedly jumped from the building, hitting a glass light, police said.
An officer was injured when the glass shards went into his eyes.
The suspect, David Brown Jr., 34, of Turnersville, then ran from the scene, but was apprehended by a Woodbury detective after a short foot chase.
Brown was charged with assault on police, criminal mischief with damage, burglary, defiant trespassing, theft from a building, exhibiting false government documentation, obstruction, resisting arrest by flight and resisting arrest. He is being held in Salem County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
