FRANKLIN TWP. -- A Blackwood man was charged after police say he broke into his ex-wife's trailer and held the woman at knifepoint before cutting his wrists.
Michael W. Doyle, 50, allegedly forced his way into a trailer at Malaga Trailer Park late Monday morning and argued with his wife, according to Franklin Township Police.
During the dispute, Doyle pulled out a knife, threatened to harm the victim and held her against her will, police said.
The woman fled to another room where she called police.
As officers responded, Doyle "caused several self-inflicted knife wounds in both wrists," police said.
He was treated at the scene and transported to Cooper University Hospital.
He was later placed in Salem County Correctional Facility on $50,000 full cash bail.
He is charged with burglary, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The victim was not injured in the incident, police said.
