The team will head to nationals in June
The Clearview High School Students in Action team won first place in the state. This was the school's first year participating in this community service leadership program at The Jefferson Foundation Student In Action Conference held on April 9 at Rowan University.
Clearview anticipated it would be a learning year, yet, because of the awesome service projects of the Clearview students and the incredible student leaders -- they actually won.
Clearview beat last year's winners (who also won second in the nation) by less than one full point. Forty-eight Clearview students went through the leadership training that the program offers during the year. Six nominated students developed and orchestrated the oral presentation -- Mikayla Perez, Ameira Brown, Andrew String, Abby Cianculli, Pierce Burgin and Maddie Avelone.
The team will head to nationals in June.
