Alice Lahoda sees Alex Law as a worthy successor to push the policies previously advanced by Rush Holt.

To the Editor:

I was born and raised in central New Jersey, where I was fortunate enough to spend most of my life in former U.S. Rep. Rush Holt's congressional district.

Holt is a true progressive, as am I. In my teens, I volunteered for several of his re-election campaigns. In 2012 and 2013, I was lucky enough to intern in both his West Windsor, Mercer County, and Washington, D.C., offices.

When Holt retired from the House, I worried that it would be years before another true progressive would step up to want to represent our state in Congress. Thankfully, I was wrong.

Now, I am a campaign director for Alex Law, a progressive Democrat running in the June 7 primary against U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross for the party's First District nomination. The day I found out about Law's campaign, I packed up my life in Boston and moved back to New Jersey, because Law believes in the same progressive message that Holt advocated in Congress for 16 years.

If you love New Jersey, you should look into Law's campaign and see for yourself how he will help the people of our state. Candidates like Holt and Law genuinely care about New Jersey, which is rare. They are true public servants.
