Actress Jane Seymour donated to Pitman's Angels of God Clothing Closet.
PITMAN -- Actress Jane Seymour visited the borough Friday to hand deliver a $5,000 donation to Pitman's own Katelyn Darrow and her nonprofit organization, Angels of God Clothing Closet.
Darrow started Angels of God at the age of 12 and has seen it grow to help thousands of families and individuals with clothing and food assistance. She works with local churches, shelters and agencies to identify the needs of those she helps and to get them assistance.
Seymour's Open Hearts Foundation recognizes individuals who have "experienced challenges and transformed personal adversity into opportunities to help others."
Angels of God was chosen as a finalist in Seymour's Celebrating Open Hearts Contest, which was created to find groups that embrace the philosophy of the Foundation.
On Friday Darrow was presented with a $5,000 check from the Open Hearts Foundation to assist Angels of God to continue its work. Individuals will be able to vote for the grand prize winner of the contest on the Celebrating Open Hearts website.
The winning organization, which will be announced just before Mother's Day, will receive a $10,000 donation.
Votes can be cast once a day beginning on April 7, 2016.
