A Williamstown man was sentenced to eight years in prison for shooting a man with a shotgun.
WOODBURY -- A Williamstown man was sentenced to eight years in prison today for an aggravated assault after admitting he shot a man with a shotgun, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.
Tyler J. Nicolary, 19, pleaded guilty to firing the gun, resulting in several pellet wounds to the victim's back, in Monroe Township on May 9, 2015. He was originally charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and attempted murder.
Under a plea agreement he also admitted to a Feb. 15, 2015 assault in which he punched a 17-year-old victim in the face, knocking out some of his teeth. He was ordered to serve three years for that third-degree charge, which will be served concurrent with his eight-year sentence.
Nicolary will have to serve 85 percent of his prison sentence before being eligible for parole and pay $7,937.60 in restitution to the punching victim.
