Readers chose Deptford over 13 other schools in a contest to determine which high school musicals would get coverage.
DEPTFORD -- The township's high school, which was selected by NJ.com readers in a contest to determine which spring musicals would receive coverage, debuted "Aida" on Thursday evening.
The play, which takes its name from the timeless Verdi opera of the same name, beat out 13 other public high schools around Gloucester County. Performances continue on Friday and Saturday. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
Other winners include Winslow Township High School in Camden County, Vineland High School in Cumberland County and Woodstown High School in Salem County.
