Giving a few hours a week of your time can help improve the lives of many.

GLASSBORO -- Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Jim Jefferson put out the call for volunteers to assist in packaging meals and delivering meals for the county's Serv-A-Tray program out of the Glassboro Senior Center.

Volunteers are needed at the Glassboro Senior Center from 9 a.m. to noon to deliver meals in the area of Glassboro and Pitman.

The Serv-A-Tray program provides nutritious meals to homebound seniors and residents. People are needed to help in the kitchen to prepare and package the meals.

The Gloucester County Division of Senior Services operates the Gloucester County Serv-A-Tray program that provides hot, nutritious noon-time meals to eligible county residents delivered Monday through Friday and provides frozen meals for the weekends and holidays. Over 1,725 meals are prepared and delivered each week.

Anyone who can spare and hour or two a day should consider becoming a Serv-A-Tray volunteer -- the county could not operate this program without its volunteers.

The Glassboro Senior Nutrition site is located at Glassboro Senior Center, in Glassboro at 152 S. Delsea Drive in Glassboro. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday. To learn more about how to become a Serv-A-Tray volunteer call the Gloucester County Division of Senior Services at 856-686-8325.
