Thousands still without power after storm pummels through N.J.

Atlantic City Electric and PSEG crews are on the roads working to restore power.

More than 2,000 customers still remain with out power Thursday morning after an overnight storm blew through New Jersey.

As of 7 a.m., Atlantic City Electric reported 2,323 outages in the South Jersey area, while PSEG reports 4,364 customers without power.

"We are out right now continuing to assess the damage from the severe storm that blew through and working to restore power as safely and quickly as possible," ACE Spokesman Frank Tedesco said.

Roughy 20,000 customers were without power by 11 p.m. Wednesday night, according to Tedesco.

Officials hope to have all power restored by midnight, Tedesco said.

In Cumberland County, there are still 497 reported power outages, according to the Atlantic City Electric.

There are 107 outages reported in Salem County and roughly 434 ACE customers and 44 PSEG customers without power reported in Gloucester County.

Atlantic City Electric reports 275 outages in Cape May County and another 773 without power in Atlantic County.

In Burlington County, 19 ACE customers without power and an additional 1,772 PSEG customers without power.

There are 912 PSEG customers and 218 ACE customers without power in Camden County.
