A Paulsboro woman is charged with causing false alarm after posting a threat to West Deptford High School.
WEST DEPTFORD TWP. -- A Paulsboro woman who responded to racially charged tweets with threats of violence has been charged with causing false alarm in the township, according to police.
Kameria J. Johnson reportedly threatened to blow up West Deptford High School via social media after reading about an issue between students, Police Chief Sam DiSimone said.
Last month, a poll posted on Twitter asked "What's more annoying at WDHS?" with the answer choices being "How cold it is" and "black hallway kids."
A second post further escalated tensions at the high school when someone altered an image of the school's website to say "West Deptford HS home of all WHITE PEOPLE" and shared the picture with friends.
Students in the school held a silent protest and administration disciplined the two students responsible for the social media postings.
"That was as school matter and the school took care of their end of it," DiSimone said. "This woman who did make her remarks entered into the realm of police activity."
Johnson was charged with causing false alarm and contempt. She was processed and released on a summons pending court.
