Warren County Community College (WCCC) President Will Austin, who grew up in Franklin Township, Gloucester County, has been named the recipient of the AAUA (American Association of University Administrators) McInnis/Ryan Award for his achievement in Mid-Career Higher Education Leadership. He will be honored with other recipients at the 2016 AAUA Leadership Seminar in June.

Austin was employed at several South Jersey colleges prior to WCCC. He previously served at Gloucester, Salem,  and Burlington County Community Colleges. Recently Austin assumed the role as chairman of the American Association of Community College's President's Academy.

As president and CEO of WCCC, Austin has dramatically changed the landscape of the college and its relationship to the community at-large: essentially doubled the credit enrollment, doubled the non-credit enrollment, and increased the physical footprint and space of the college by over 130 percent.

Austin's most significant accomplishment at WCCC is the VIPER (Veterans in Pursuit of Educational Readiness) program. The program gained national attention for its ability to let veterans seamlessly gain their associates degrees.

In December 2006, Community College Week first recognized WCCC as one of the Nation's top 20 fastest growing community colleges. WCCC remains one of the steadiest community colleges for enrollment in the United States.

Austin also teaches undergraduate, masters, and doctorate level classes, chairs dissertations, develops graduate syllabi on college finance, and has written two books, one for students on finances, and another on strategic planning
