Groundhog Day dinner Jan. 30
HARRISON TWP. -- The Harrison Township Historical Society will hold its annual Groundhog Day Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m., at the Ewan Fire Hall, 312 Ewan Road.
This annual event features sausage links, sausage gravy and biscuits, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, candied yams, fried apples, green beans, and a dessert buffet. Now in its 12th year, the menu main course is a play on words -- sausage is served -- to celebrate Groundhog Day.
In addition to the home-cooked menu, the program includes an emcee, and a silent auction.

All proceeds benefit the society's exhibitions and educational programs at the Old Town Hall Museum.
Punxsutawney Phil will leave his burrow at 7:25 a.m. Feb. 2 at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. He will observe the weather conditions and look for his shadow he will then make his prediction for the remainder of winter.
