GLASSBORO -- A fire Wednesday morning consumed the garage of a home on Harper Drive, but firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to anywhere else on the property.
Firefighters from five municipalities responded to the home shortly after 9 a.m.
It took them about a half hour to contain the blaze.
A woman -- who was not the owner of the residence -- was the only one home at the time of the fire and was not injured.
The cause of the fire is not known at this point and it remains under investigation, according to Glassboro Fire Department Chief Steve Smith.
Smith was unable to determine at this time whether a propane tank among the debris scattered around the garage was responsible for the blaze.
"Can't rule it out," he said, noting that the cause would only be found after an investigation.
Fire departments from Glassboro, Pitman, Clayton, Washington Township and Elk Township all responded to the scene.
