The Gloucester County Nature Club (GCNC) will meet on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 3 Lenape Trail, Wenonah. Lenape Trail is located just off of Mantua Avenue at Woodbury-Glassboro Road.
The program for January will be "If You Plant It, They Will Come" presented by Ron and Linda Kegel.
If you plant it, they will come -- but what? And when? And where?
Linda and Ron Kegel moved from one side of their town to the other, from woodland edge to a development with no trees, like moving from the forest to the desert. Here's how they started planting in their single acre and how plants and wildlife reacted to development life.
Linda, a retired kindergarten teacher and Ron, a manager at a plant nursery are both long time GCNC members and have been birding for over 40 years. Come out and hear how, in a little over 20 years, their bird yard list has grown to over 130 species.
Nature Club meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of the month, September through June, and are free and open to the public. For more information, visit gcnatureclub.org.
