Washington Township police said the Dec. 30 robbery is similar to others that have occurred recently in Camden County.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Police are seeking the public's help in identifying two men who robbed a township convenience store clerk at knife point last week.
Capt. Steve Rolando said the two men, who had their faces concealed, waited until the Nik Nak store on Woodbury-Turnersville Road was empty around 6 p.m. on Dec. 30 before they entered and held a large knife up to the employee behind the counter.
The pair then forced open the register and took the entire cash drawer before fleeing.
Rolando said that witnesses who saw the robbers leave reported they ran into the nearby Washington Way apartment complex, but a track and search of the area did not turn up any leads.
Other police departments in adjacent Camden County reported similar robberies, however, and Rolando said they'll be working in tandem with them to find the suspects.
"Right now, we're looking to actually piece them together and jointly come up with something as far as identifying actors involved," said Rolando.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Detective Fred Volpe at 856-589-0330 or fjvolpe@pd.twp.washington.nj.us.
